Tyler Lawrence

Tyler Lawrence was just 13 when his life was cut short in a heinous and random act of gun violence on a Sunday morning in January 2023 while he walked near his grandparents’ home in Mattapan. His mother, Remy, summed it up best when she said Tyler "loved to run into the kitchen like it was a basketball court and shoot this imaginary ball all around me while I'm cooking. That was who Tyler was. He was a lot of fun, and he was a lot of light." Survivors Say volunteers worked closely with Remy Lawrence and her extended family through the initial days after his murder, memorial services, the arrest and arraignment of his alleged killer, serving as her primary media contact, spokesperson and helping support the family with public statements and media support.
